I trained at the Piano School at Newark College, a course which included intensive tuition on tuning as well as all aspects of piano repair and maintenance. I achieved a Diploma in Piano Tuning & Restoration (Advanced) over 3 years of full-time study. My aim is always to achieve the very best that is possible with each instrument. As I play myself, I like your piano to sound as good as I would like my own to after a tuning!
My charge is normally £40 for a standard fine tuning although there may be an additional charge if other work (such as significant repairs or a major pitch raise) is needed - please feel free to contact me for a quote. If there is any charge for repairs, I'll explain the work and agree a cost first.
My normal charge for a major pitch raise is £55.

ReplyDeleteI recently bought a second hand piano (they always reccomend tuning ),for my wife for Christmas, I'm not musical in anyway, so googled piano tuners in York, and as is customary read the reviews ,Andy's were excellent ,e mailed him, he replied promptly and arranged an appointment for tune and checkover.
ReplyDeleteHe arrived on time ,and fuelled by a cuppa ,got on with our piano , from the kitchen I could here the relentless effort he put into getting the best sound possible ...some hours later, as its not a quick job ,Andy played some beautiful tunes on our piano ,it was so soothing like being at a concert .I hope my wife can play as well .
When Andy had finished And told me the price I was pleasantly surprised .
